1951 Oldsmobile 98 Apparel and Accessories by Legend Lines

“Oldsmobile”The top-of-the-line Oldsmobile model for 1951 was the Ninety-Eight Series. Body styles included a four-door sedan, 2-door Holiday Hardtop, and a convertible. The sedan accounted for the majority of 98 sales, with 78,122 sold. The Holiday Hardtop had 17,929 sales and the convertible, priced at $2,645 found 4,468 willing buyers. The "Rocket" engine was 303 cubic-inch displacement, and developed 135 horsepower. The convertible and sedan came only with Deluxe equipment, while the Holiday Hardtop could be ordered with either Standard or Deluxe trim. Standard equipment included low-pressure tires, dual rear quarter courtesy lights, exposed chromed roof bows, cigarette lighter, bumper guards, dome light, rubber floor mats, stainless steel moldings, lined trunk, foam rubber seat cushions, additional chrome trim and moldings, and illuminated ashtray. The Deluxe trim added a Deluxe electric clock, Deluxe steering wheel with horn ring, special chrome trim, rear center seat armrests, and special rear door ornament. The upholstery choices were nylon cloth and leather, or nylon cord.
