1958 Oldsmobile Super 88 Apparel and Accessories by Legend Lines
The Oldsmobile model lineup entered 1958, General Motor's 50th year of automobile production, wearing new designs created under the direction of Art Ross. Deviating from recent marque styling trends, Ross replaced the prior oval-shaped 'jet intake' front grille with a full-width horizontal-bar grille and a large chromed bumper. The 1958 Oldsmobile lineup included the entry-level Dynamic 88, mid-level Super 88, and the 98. The Super 88 shared its V8 engine with the 98. Body styles on the Super Eighty-Eight included a 2- and 4-door Holiday hardtop, sedan, convertible, and station wagon. All of the standard features found on the Dynamic Eighty-Eight were included on the Super Eighty-Eight including turn signals, 8.50x14 inch tires, an aluminum anodized grille, and an oil filter. Additional items included a padded dash, parking brake light, foam rubber padded seat cushions, courtesy lights, the larger engine, and chrome rocker panel moldings. Optional equipment included the Trans-Portable Radio, a cigar lighter, electric clock, deluxe heater and defroster system, chrome outside mirror, vent windows, and a power radio antenna, and many more options.
