1971 Plymouth GTX Coupe Apparel and Accessories by Legend Lines
Plymouth decided to produce the GTX in 1971 but it was the final year. The styling was updated, its lines were curvy and it sat atop a shortened wheelbase. To improve the handling, the GTX received a wider track. The Air Grabber was optional. The 440 cubic-inch engine was standard, now producing five less horsepower than the private year. 30 examples of the Hemi was ordered. The 440+6, still available, produced 390 horsepower. Due partly to rising insurance rates on muscle cars, sales were low. There were less than 3000 examples sold, Plymouth decided to make the GTX as an option on the Road Runner for 1972.
