1970 Dodge Coronet RT Hardtop T-Shirt - Long Sleeves - Side View
1970 Dodge Coronet RT Hardtop Long Sleeve T-Shirt
Visually, the R/T package added some high-performance styling cues on top of the Coronet 500, including simulated air scoops on the quarter panels, R/T badges, either a Power Bulge hood or dual Ram Charger hoodscoops and a “bumblebee”-style rally stripe on the tail. The Coronet R/T included all of the Coronet 500 goodies and added the 375hp 440 Magnum engine as standard, TorqueFlite automatic transmission, vinyl bucket seats, heavy-duty drum brakes, as well as heavy-duty suspension with .92-inch torsion bars and staggered leaf springs. Buyers could up the ante by opting for the triple two-barrel carbureted 390hp 440 Six Pack, or the 425hp 426 Hemi. A four-speed transmission was also available and was automatically paired with a 9¾-inch Dana rear axle. Whether it was due to a shift in buyer tastes or a lack of enthusiasm for the car’s front end, the 1970 Coronet R/T had few takers: Only 2,319 hardtops and 296 convertibles were built. Many fell victim to hard use and all-season driving in the rust belt, so these cars have become an unusual sight today.
